Young Designer of the Year
Arcadia are looking for fresh young designers to compliment
their current design teams. Topshop, Dorothy Perkins and Miss Selfridge are
their main fashion forward money spinning brands. They require new designers to
boost the brands appeal and lead the way in high street innovation!
Based on the art & architecture of Manchester City Gallery
& John Rylands Library, develop a unique design and make a skirt fit
for one of the Arcadia brands.
Skirts are the go to garment for the Spring! and Print is on
vogue! Designers such as Holly Fulton, Peter Pillotto & Cavelli are very on
trend and have a huge influence on the high street.
Client: Female, Age 16 - 26, trend aware but not necessarily
a slave to fashion!!! and like to stand out from the crowd!
Consider all the skills you have attained so far, develop your
ideas and incorporate an aspect of pattern and print in your work;
combined with other techniques and taking into consideration designer
influences.
The chief designer will choose the top 3 designs to win the
position of junior designer of the year!
